Hi there

My name is Dayzsa Williams. I serve as Michelle Thurman’s Executive Assistant. I have over 7 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant and secretarial work. I started as a Customer Service Representative in 2015 for a company called Xerox. I worked there for about a year and a half. I decided that I wanted to go back to school in 2017 and got a work study job as an office assistant in the testing center at South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC). I was fortunate that one of the full-time workers was retiring, which opened a position that I applied for. After successfully passing my interview, I became a permanent part-time employee. From 2017-2020, I happily enjoyed the odds and ends of working in the testing center. Because of a mixture of my continued education and COVID-19, I was laid off from that job and was unemployed for roughly 4 months. I decided to take a chance on a job that I was underqualified for. Lucky enough, I was given the opportunity to interview for the Administrative Assistant 3 position with the Department of Health. They saw something in me that allowed me to progress in my administrative career, so in July 2020 I was employed once again. I worked for the state for 4 years and some change. In that time, I was able to promote and finish my education. July 2024, I decided to change the field I was working in since I just completed my BA in Psychology. I began working in the mental/behavioral health field and fell in love. I know it’s what I went to school for, but I didn’t think I would like it as much as I did. However, due to health issues, I had to take a step back for the physically and mentally demanding work, so I returned to my bread and butter. I have been an Executive Assistant ever since.
